Liverpool fans react to huge Mohamed Salah contract update

Liverpool fans reacted to the latest Mohamed Salah transfer update on Monday. Salah confirmed he was ‘disappointed’ not to have been offered a new contract by the Reds despite his desire to stay at the club.

The 32-year-old believes he is now “probably” more likely to leave at the end of the season than extend his contract, amid speculation over his future over the past 12 months following transfer interest from clubs of the Saudi Pro League.

Salah scored a brace in Sunday’s 3-2 win over Southampton as Liverpool moved eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table. He has 12 goals and 10 assists in 18 appearances for the Reds in all competitions,

After the match at St Mary’s, the Egyptian striker told reporters that he had not received any offers to extend his stay beyond the summer.

“Well, it’s almost December and I haven’t received any offers to stay at the club yet, (so) I’m probably more out than in,” Salah said.

“You know, I’ve been at the club for many years. There’s no club like this. But at the end of the day, it’s not in my hands. As I said before, It’s December and I haven’t received anything about my future yet.

“I love the fans. The fans love me. Ultimately, it’s not in my hands or in the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see. Sure (no offer is disappointing), yeah.

“I’m not retiring anytime soon so I’m just playing, focusing on the season and trying to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League too. I’m disappointed but we’ll see .

“I’m very professional. Everyone can see my work ethic. I just try to enjoy my football and I will play at the highest level for as long as possible. I do my best because that’s who I am and I try to give everything for myself and for the club. We will see what happens next.

Following this news, Liverpool fans took to social media to express their frustration as Salah is free to speak with interested foreign clubs to sign a pre-contract deal in January.
