Potential witnesses who helped two girls at Frome supermarket have asked to come forward

We are hoping to trace a man and woman who helped two teenage girls at a Frome supermarket.

The unknown woman was approached by the girls in the Asda toilets, between 9.30am and 11.30am on Thursday, September 5, and asked to go and find a member of staff.

She left the bathroom and asked the man to get an employee. As they did so, the two left the store together.

The officer in charge of the case, DC Matthew Morton, said: “We would like to speak to both men to determine whether they have any information which could be relevant to an ongoing investigation.

“After leaving the store, both girls revealed to a member of staff that they had been victims of sexual offenses in another part of the city overnight.

“Police were called and officers arrested a 17-year-old boy later that day. He has since been released on bail while our investigation continues.

DC Morton added: “We ensure victims have access to the support services they may need.

“We look forward to speaking to the two members of the public who helped the girls that day to establish what information, if any, they may have that is relevant to this criminal investigation. CCTV footage showing the two individuals was found. We appreciate that they are of poor quality, but we hope that they can jog the memories of the two men.

“We ask them to contact us online or on 101 and provide us with the crime reference number. 5224234755.”
