Waco man fired gun at brother’s house after argument over who would care for his mother in Mexico: affidavit

WACO, TX (KWTX) – A Waco man is accused of shooting a gun into his brother’s home after the two got into a heated argument over who would care for their mother in Mexico.

Ulises Palacios is charged with assault and domestic violence, according to an arrest warrant.

On November 23, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 2700 block of Fort Avenue to investigate a call of shots fired.

When officers arrived at the residence, a man told them that he and his brother, identified in the warrant as Palacios, had gotten into a physical altercation after a heated argument.

The man kicked Palacios out of his home, but Palacios later returned and fired a gun at the residence, according to the warrant.

Police learned the bullet pierced a window and then traveled through the living room to a small dining room when it struck a jar of marbles. The victim was in the living room when the bullet was fired, police said.

Officers also observed two bullet holes in the porch, but were unable to locate any projectiles, the warrant states.

Officers located Palacios at a residence in the 2500 block of Homan, where he was detained while they investigated the shooting.

According to the warrant, Palacios’ daughter left the residence and reported that her father had returned from her uncle’s house and told them about the fight.

“He was very angry and ultimately left with a gun in his pocket,” police wrote in the arrest warrant.

Palacios’ daughter followed him in her own vehicle to her uncle’s house, where she saw Palacios fire the gun at the residence, police reported.

When they returned home, Palacios’ wife and daughter took his gun and locked it in a toolbox. The officers who arrested Palacios eventually recovered the five-shot revolver, the warrant states.

Palacios was arrested, but is no longer listed as an active inmate at the McLennan County Jail.
