Army, WHO jointly establish rural health center in Neelum Valley

The Pakistan Army, in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), laid the foundation stone of a new rural health center in Neelum Valley on October 30. The initiative addresses long-standing healthcare accessibility challenges faced by local residents in the remote region of Kashmir. region.

Prior to this development, residents in the area had to undertake an 11-hour journey on foot to reach Kel’s medical facilities, a journey that is particularly difficult during the winter months when snowfall frequently blocks access routes. The situation has caused many casualties during medical emergencies.

The creation of this health facility is expected to significantly improve medical services in the region, where basic infrastructure remains limited. Members of the local community expressed their appreciation for the joint efforts of the Pakistan Army and WHO to improve healthcare accessibility in the region.
