Speaking on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports, he said: “There were (options for me). Chelsea, LiverpoolMan Utd came in with a very late offer which I wasn’t aware of at the time.

“(But) To be honest, my decision was already made up from the moment Arsene Wenger got involved.

Fans can’t believe Theo Walcott’s ‘shocking’ blind ranking of top 10 Champions League stars and ask ‘is this a prank?’

Walcott had the chance to play with Henry for a season before he left for Barcelona.

However, having become one of the leading figures at the Emirates, Walcott was still at the club when Henry returned in 2012.

He was substituted off the field moments before Henry’s famous late winner against Sunderland.

Walcott has scored 108 goals in 397 games for the Gunners in total.

He finally left the club in 2018 to join Everton.

After 85 appearances for the Toffees, Walcott returned to Southampton, initially on loan in 2020.

The change became permanent the following summer, with Walcott playing for the Saints for two more seasons before announcing his retirement.

He also won 47 caps for the England national team, scoring eight goals.

Walcott said playing with his idol Thierry Henry was a major factor in his decision to join Arsenal.
