Some DC bars will stay open until 4 a.m. the day before Thanksgiving

Following the tradition of “Drinksgiving” – the day before Thanksgiving, when city friends get together and stay out drinking late – DC is allowing more than 200 bars to extend their opening hours until 4 a.m. Late hours will last through the holiday weekend, from Wednesday, November 27 to Sunday, December 1.

Dupont Decades And Public bar are among the bars that will serve drinks until 4 a.m. But just because other bars have been approved for extended hours by the city doesn’t mean they’ll be open late (or early): be sure to call ahead for each bar’s hours. bar.

There are also plenty of themed events and specials for before Thanksgiving without partying until dawn. Nellie in Shaw, there will be $2 beers and $7 lemons starting at 5 p.m., with a DJ set scheduled from 10 p.m. until late. Union Pub is hosting “Wingsgiving” with 50-cent wings from 1 to 9 p.m. Beer garden with park view Midlands is extending happy hour until closing, along with special $5 shots. Metrobar will not only host a party before Thanksgiving in its renovated 5000 series subway car, with drink specials and a DJ spinning tunes, but also a “Leftovers Party” the following Friday.
