Amazon Alexa device predicts date and year of America’s ‘end’: ‘On…the United States will cease to exist’

Amazon Alexa device predicts date and year of America's 'end': "The...the United States ceases to exist"

A recent TikTok video had the internet buzzing after an Amazon Alexa device made a scary prediction about the United States. According to the virtual assistant, the United States will cease to exist by February 2031, the result of a global unification effort.
According to a report from the NewYork Post, which shared the video, content creator named Lucy Blake shared the video about the ominous prediction on TikTok. “On February 20, 2031, the United States of America will cease to exist,” the device allegedly claimed in the clip. “This date marks the culmination of a process of unification between different governments which has not been approved by most people,” he continues.
The TikTok video has been viewed more than two million times since it was posted earlier this month. Blake claimed the creepy response only happened once and his home device no longer gave the same response when prompted. Instead, her “brand new Alexa” responds only with: “I don’t know
Although the TikTok video has garnered over a million views, many are skeptical about the accuracy of the prediction, attributing it to a glitch or a pre-programmed response. However, the bizarre timing of this prediction, coming shortly after one of the most “divided” US presidential elections, fueled speculation and sparked a range of reactions, from humor to concern.
This isn’t the first time Amazon’s AI assistant has sparked controversy. Earlier this year, Alexa devices were accused of providing biased responses, favoring specific political candidates. Amazon attributed the incident to an error that was quickly corrected.
While Alexa’s apocalyptic vision may just be a simple quirk, it reminds us of the growing influence of AI in our lives and the need for careful monitoring.
