Calm today ahead of the front, which could bring some strong storms for Turkey Day

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Good morning Wednesday morning! Start the day foggy and cool with temperatures in the 30s and 40s. Dense fog advisory posted for foggy conditions that will likely last until mid-morning before finally mixing.

This afternoon we will see a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures near 70°. Clouds build in late this evening with a few late evening showers likely just before midnight. Some light rain lasts through the night before a stronger front arrives on Thanksgiving.

By Thursday morning, we will likely track a few thunderstorms along the front, with a few on the stronger side with damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph and a possible tornado. The front clears the viewing area around noon and will likely trigger more thunderstorms in eastern and southern Georgia.

This front heralds a much colder forecast for Black Friday and the upcoming weekend. Temperatures drop to freezing, likely marking our first frost of the season and highs struggle to warm into the mid 50s.
