Coronation Street‘s Lauren Bolton finally received some good news in Wednesday’s (November 27) episode as she was reunited with her baby son Frankie.

Lauren is fighting for permission to raise Frankie in the prison’s mother-baby unit, while she remains on remand since The Murder of Joel Deering.

The teenager’s chances seemed slim until Dee-Dee Bailey represented her at an important meeting with the Mothers and Babies admissions committee.

In Wednesday’s episode, there was a heartwarming moment for Lauren when the result was revealed and the head of duty placed Frankie in her arms.

Lauren was thrilled to be reunited with her beloved son, although, unbeknownst to her, new doubts were arising about his long-term future.

Max Turner, Lauren’s boyfriend convinced his family to give Frankie a good home if needed in the future.

Back at the Platt house, Shona reminds David that this will be the end result if Lauren is found guilty of Joel’s murder.

Shona noted that Lauren was “really relieved” by the news, but David admitted he still had his doubts.

David confessed: “I don’t think we should take him, that’s all. I don’t want to raise someone else’s child.”

As Shona warned Max was “very keen” on helping raise Frankie, David joked: “Well let him go and have his own house and he can raise as many little babies as he can wish.”

It wasn’t the only issue causing tension between the Platt couple, as Shona confided in David that she desperately wanted to visit her son. Clayton Hibbs.

Show bosses have confirmed Shona and David’s marital problems are paving the way for a great Christmas story this year.

CorrieKate Brooks’ producer recently said digital spy and other media: “The Platts are the heart of Christmas. You have David and Shona – and David made huge mistakes in hiding the visitation orders from Clayton.

“This has huge consequences and Shona hits the self-destruct button in the run-up to Christmas and makes a truly terrible judgment.”
