Rotary club governors-elect pledge to extend service to society

The deputy governors-elect of Rotary clubs in the region are committed to extending their services to all sections of society. The senior officials recently returned after undergoing a training program on board Cordelia Cruise, Lakshadweep.

Peacebuilding, conflict prevention, disease prevention and treatment, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy, community economic development, environment besides water, Sanitation and hygiene were cited as key areas of focus for Rotary International, under which the elected deputy governors were cited. gave advice on how to involve as many volunteers as possible from their assigned units.

Mohammad Asrar, zonal coordinator-elect of the Rotary International District, said the deputy governors-elect, led by Surinder Pal Sofat, were committed to inspiring and guiding the office bearers and activists of the various units assigned to them to do their best in the service of humanity.

“Having imbibed the fundamentals of leadership and being part of a service organization, we feel fully equipped to inspire and engage members of various units in projects planned to be undertaken within the organization’s seven priority areas” , said Sofat, adding that the achievements of various clubs would be highlighted in a bid to inspire other members.

District Governor (2025-26) Bhupesh Mehta said that deputy governors-elect, Rotarians and council members from parts of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan have gained new experiences and expertise in various areas of social service during the recently concluded seminar in Lakshadweep.

Rotary International Director-elect Flt Lt KP Nagesh, District Governor Sandeep Chauhan, CEO Prem Aggarwal, CEO Surinder Johri and Mehta briefed the participants on the fundamentals of the focus areas, besides emphasizing the need for increase the membership and participation of women in service organizations.
