State health officials reach deal to keep Avanti Assisted Living open

PEORIA, AZ (AZFamily) — The Arizona Department of Health Services reached an agreement Wednesday to keep Avanti Assisted Living in Peoria open, meaning those residents will be allowed to stay on site.

The facility has been placed under a new ownership group and is now licensed as Spring Gardens Peoria, an Avista senior living community, health officials said.

A provisional license was issued Tuesday, “which will now ensure residents of the facility receive the care they need in a qualified, licensed environment,” ADHS said in a news release.

Avanti Senior Living closed its doors after the facility lost its license, leaving families scrambling to find new housing.

Some of them have I spent weeks looking for new homes for their older parents.

But now residents can stay if they want and ADHS said Avista Senior Living will help residents during the transition.

“We work to ensure that ADHS licensees receive the support they need to provide high-quality services,” ADHS said. “We will closely monitor progress to ensure a smooth transition of services and continuity of care. »
