Edmonton weather for November 29: frosty end of the month

We’ll close out November with two more frigid days and Sunday doesn’t look much warmer.

But… we will come out of the cold snap on Monday in the Edmonton area.

Areas further west will see milder temperatures by Sunday and eastern Alberta will have to wait until Tuesday to see the temperature return to average (or above).

Snowfall warnings are in effect for the Grande Prairie/Grande Cache and Whitecourt/Edson areas.

Overall…about 8 to 12 inches of snow is expected by the end of Sunday, with most of that snow falling today and tonight.

Some areas near the British Columbia border, southwest of Grande Prairie, could receive more than 50 cm of snow by the end of the weekend.

Here in the Edmonton area we will see occasional periods of snow today and Saturday. There will be a series of humidity hits, the intensity will vary.

Sometimes it will just be light snow showers…then it will get a little heavier for a while…then it will taper off before starting again.

2 to 5 cm of snow is forecast by the end of the day today and another 2 to 5 cm of snow on Saturday.

There is still a chance of a few scattered snow showers on Sunday, but this is not expected to be significant in terms of accumulation.
