Frost warnings continue this evening; cool weather ahead

MOBILE, AlabamaWALA) – The start of our weekend on the Gulf Coast was very cool. This morning temperatures fell above 20 degrees in our inland areas, with freezing temperatures reported even as far as the coast.

For this afternoon, temperatures will remain cool in the 50s under mostly sunny skies. This trend toward cool weather will continue over the next few days.

TODAY:

This afternoon, expect highs in the 50s across our area with mostly sunny skies. Winds will be lighter than Friday, starting around 10 mph in the morning and decreasing to around 5 mph in the evening. Tonight will be cool with clear skies, as temperatures drop into the 50s and 40s.

For tonight, a freeze is likely across most of the FOX10 viewing area. Our inland counties will experience upper 20s, while areas near I-10 will fall into the low 30s. Frost warnings are in effect and susceptible plants may be damaged.

SUNDAY:

Sunday morning will start the day near or below freezing across much of the region. In the afternoon, temperatures will be milder but still cool, with highs near the 60s under mostly sunny skies.
