Steinbach Chamber Executive Director Reflects on Networking at National Conferences – SteinbachOnline.com

The Steinbach Chamber of Commerce is full of positive energy and Executive Director Tessa Masi offers exciting ideas from her recent trips to conferences in Halifax. As the Chamber experiences unprecedented growth, Masi has returned inspired and invigorated by the networking opportunities and best practices shared among other Chamber leaders across Canada.

“I had the chance to go to Halifax for the Canadian Chambers of Commerce Executive Conference and AGM,” shares Masi. “It was incredible because I was sitting in a room with almost 300 people doing the same job as me across Canada. I had the opportunity to meet people from small rooms, large rooms, to understand what they do? What are the new ideas? ? What are their best practices? Just get advice and can actually network and build relationships.

Masi describes the experience as a perfect opportunity to learn and grow, confirming that it lived up to her expectations.

“I wanted to build relationships with other chambers and find out what they do and what they like about their work. One of the biggest things I took away from that conference and then the Canadian Chambers of Commerce conference, which was right after that, I felt so lucky with what we have here in Steinbach. »

What sets Steinbach apart? Masi highlights the strong staff at the Chamber compared to many others she has encountered.

“We have a Chamber that has several staff members. There are other places where one staff member is expected to do everything – it must be very difficult for them,” she explains. “We are able to put on incredible events. We have great engagement with our members. We have over 500 members. That puts us in a totally different category than in previous years.”

Masi’s enthusiasm is palpable as she notes that the growth and commitment of the Chamber attracting national attention.

“For those who hear that the Steinbach Chamber is expanding to the Canadian level and that we have over 500 members, a lot of people are surprised by that in the best way possible.”

As the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce continues to expand its reach and influence, Masi’s recent experiences have only strengthened its commitment to fostering relationships and innovative practices.
