Mass Weather: Will You Need a Jacket for Halloween? Here’s what to expect

Everyone knows a jacket ruins a Halloween costume. Fortunately, many in Massachusetts won’t need one on Thursday.

After cool weather on Tuesday, followed by some rain, temperatures are expected to warm up on Wednesday and Thursday.

“We will also see a BIG warm-up peaking on Halloween,” the National Weather Service posted on X.

High temperatures during the day Thursday are expected to be in the upper 70s, with Lowell possibly reaching 81 degrees. It will start to cool off again around 6 p.m. However, many cities and towns will remain in the 70s.

Boston and Lowell are expected to reach 73 degrees at 6 p.m., while Worcester and Springfield are expected to reach 72 degrees.

Areas of Cape Cod and the islands will likely be the coolest, around 62 degrees Thursday night.

Rain is expected to return on Friday.

Boston and Cape Town will likely be hit with rain throughout the day Friday.
