Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 review

You’d be forgiven – certainly by me, I love you a lot – if you’d gotten into the habit of skipping every new Call of Duty campaign, focusing entirely on enjoying the multiplayer modes. After all, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is one of the best deals we’ve had in years. But I implore you not to skip the single-player offering this time. Not only is it too crazy an adventure to pass up, but it truly evolves what this series can be.

Leaning more than ever on the Mission Impossible-style spy thriller angle that has always set Call of Duty: Black Ops apart from its cousins, it’s filled to the brim with explosive set pieces and clever open-ended sections that break up the pace and allow for opportunities for player-led exploration. More importantly, it succeeds in its overhaul in a way that last year’s entry, which had similar ambitions, did not – which our Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 examine the details.
