THE Hoosiers (11-1) did its job in the Old Oaken Bucket game, delivering all kinds of style points to dismantle Purdue 66-0. A loss at Miami helped their cause, but Ohio State’s home loss to Michigan didn’t do them any favors.

If IU is 11th or 12th in the final rankings, it could be excluded. The top four seeds will go to the conference champions, even if those teams are not seeded in the top 12. It is possible that the Big 12, ACC and/or top Group of Five conference champions will not be not in the top 12, which could potentially push Indiana down the list.

The final CFP rankings will be released at noon ET on December 8.

Teams #5 through 8 in the final CFP rankings welcome teams #9 through 12 to campus the weekend before Christmas.

Heather Dinich, ESPN: 9th

“The Hoosiers are in the playoffs as the fourth team in the Big Ten behind Oregon, Penn State and Ohio State, but they may not be ranked high enough to win a home game in the first round. That could change if Clemson beat SMU, which would give the Hoosiers a last-minute boost.

Indiana has a 99% chance of making the playoffs.
