Regular season success helps SDSU earn At-large bid

BROOKINGS, SD (KELO) – The SDSU volleyball team finished second in the Summit League championship, but there was plenty of hope that a 27-2 record could still get them to the NCAA tournament.

The Jackrabbits were rewarded for their strong season with an at-large bid to the tournament. They will play in Miami, in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Most of the team was confident they would receive an at-large berth, but they were one of the last teams to be selected, which added a bit of nerve to Sunday’s selection show.

“We were really nervous to start. I think the nerves building up and waiting for our name to be called was so nerve-wracking, but once it was finally called, it felt like all of our hard work this season had finally paid off. fruit,” Zgonc said.

SDSU and Miami will meet Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
