Bobbi Brown to meet fans and give away makeup at New Jones Road store Wednesday

WICKER PARK — Bobbi Brown is taking her show on the road. She will be in town Wednesday and is expected to make an appearance at her Jones Road store in Wicker Park.

The legendary makeup artist, who currently lives in Montclair, New Jersey, opened a Chicago store for its Jones Road brand in April at 1655 N. Damen Ave., on the Wicker Park-Bucktown border. It was the first Midwest location for Jones Road, which Brown created as an independent brand after his contract with Estée Lauder expired.

Wednesday’s gathering is a celebration of the brand’s fourth anniversary; Brown launched Jones Road on October 26, 2020.

According to social media posts, Brown will be “just steps away” from the store during a celebration that includes treats, music and product giveaways like her bestselling Mini Miracle Balms and other favorites.

One of the most famous names in the makeup world, Brown founded her eponymous beauty company, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, in the early ’90s, which she later sold and exited in 2016, according to CNN.

The Wicker Park Jones Road store was something of a homecoming for Brown, who grew up in Wilmette and still has family members in the Chicago area, according to a news release.

“It’s not just where I grew up. It was also where I was first encouraged to pursue a career
in makeup, which over the past 40 years has taken me across the United States and around the world,” Brown said in a statement announcing the store’s opening. “I’m excited to return to my Midwest roots, see my family and friends here, and bring Jones Road to the Chicago area.”
