Freely has added four new channels, and that’s good news for history and sci-fi nerds

Own a television freely? Next, we have some good news as the TV streaming service has just confirmed four new channels and content providers are joining.

If you have a smart TV, you will be able to access PBS America, AMC Networks International UK (AMCNI UK), GB News and the commercial channel QVC from early 2025.

This brings the total range of live channels broadcast on Freely to over 40.

Freely is available on next generation smart TVs and is supported by the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.

One of PBS America’s offerings for the new streaming platform includes the work of filmmaker Ken Burns, known for his documentaries and films about American history.

There is also an information pane called Front line which features the latest political news focused on the United States

You can stream these live TV channels as well as on-demand content for free over Wi-Fi, so you don’t need a dish or antenna.

Another channel that caught our attention is Legend, which offers a whole series of free science fiction, action and cult series. Theorem, you can find old school classics such as Team A and the original Star Trek series.

Jonathan Thompson, CEO of Everyone TV, which owns Freely, said the new collaborations mark an “important milestone as Freely continues to redefine the streaming experience, offering something for everyone, with content in a variety of genres”.

Freely is available on Panasonic’s 4K range OLED, QLEDand LED televisions. We tested it on UT24SB socket as well as the Hisense E7NQ Proand we appreciated the ability to live stream all the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 channels via the internet rather than having to watch them via an aerial or satellite dish.

There’s also the Sharp range of smart TVs, including the GK4 4K and GM6 4K QLED models. New Toshiba and Metz models also come with Freely TV, including some Metz QLED+ models ranging in screen size from 43 to 65 inches.
