New Thales solution integrates Imperva technologies to improve data risk management

Thales SA today announced the launch of Data Risk Intelligence, a new Imperva Data Security Fabric solution that proactively addresses data risk wherever it resides.

The new solution combines the risk and threat identification capabilities of Imperva Data Security Fabric with the data protection capability of the Thales CipherTurst data security platform, following Thales’ acquisition of Imperva for 3, 6 billion dollars. in 2023.

The joint solution aims to address the issue where organizations face challenges in managing security across an ever-increasing attack surface, while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Thales says that with data and operations distributed across the cloud, on-premises and hybrid systems, security teams need constant and complete visibility into where their data is located, what types of data they available and the potential risks weighing on this data.

Data Risk Intelligence solves these problems by combining contextual information to provide a unified view of risks to critical data. The view shows the strength of data encryption across an organization’s entire data state, enabling security teams and data risk specialists to identify the most critical data at risk by severity and effectively prioritize risk mitigation with clear recommendations for corrective actions.

The new service provides a highly reliable risk score and clear recommendations for corrective actions based on a wide range of data risk indicators through advanced analytics, based on user permissions, data source vulnerabilities, use of encryption according to NIST standards, suspicious activity monitoring and other customizable inputs.

Key benefits of Data Risk Intelligence include enhanced risk prioritization that combines information from Data Security Fabric and CipherTrust Data Security Platform to provide accurate risk scores for confident decision-making. It also provides complete visibility into an organization’s data assets, simplifying risk management with actionable indicators and protection recommendations.

The solution offers customizable risk indicators, allowing organizations to adapt to their unique environments and focus on critical threats. Additionally, advanced encryption integration and machine learning analytics identify and prioritize high-risk data, ensuring robust protection at every level.

“The ability to view data risk across key dimensions: organizational risk, asset risk and regulatory risk in one place is incredibly impactful,” said Todd Moore, vice president of data security products. at Thales. “Data Risk Intelligence is the first of many integrations between the Thales and Imperva platforms that enable our customers to protect their data and all paths to it. »
