Where Big Ten teams rank in the playoff bracket

(This story has been updated with new information).

The biggest week of the initial 12 teams College Football Playoffs has arrived.

The penultimate series of CFP rankings was released Tuesday ahead of this weekend’s conference championship games. This was the final rankings revealed ahead of Sunday’s final 12-team bracket. The Big Ten matchup between #1 in Oregon and No. 3 Penn State for the Big Ten Championship could have a significant impact on the final tranche. Yet it seems the least important to involve a member of the conference.

The undefeated Ducks retained its top spot in the rankings, finishing as the only undefeated FBS teamr. Despite the state of Ohio shocking life-changing loss at the hands of its rival Michigan in “The Game”, the Buckeyes didn’t fall in the rankings as much as expected. At the same time, Penn State and Indiana held onto their spots in the bracket.

Big Ten and SEC send four representatives to the current 12-team CFP field, although things could change by the end of the week. Here’s how the Big Ten fared in the fourth round of the College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday:
