While Delta Force Black Hawk Down is more of a single-player focused experience, Delta Force is, at its heart, a competitive multiplayer first-person shooter. As such, while the game looks good if you enable all the graphical details, getting a solid frame rate well above 60fps – ideally above 120fps – should be your priority.

Fortunately, for our RTX 4070-equipped test system, this was achievable with the game’s graphics detail settings at maximum, when running the game at 1080p. We recorded an average frame rate of 134fps with a low frame rate of 74fps at 1%, giving us a consistently smooth experience.

However, in an ideal world we would want to run the game at a slightly higher resolution. Indeed, the long drawing distances and precision required to get the most out of this game really benefit from a few extra pixels. It’s a lot like CoD Warzone in that way.

Fortunately, after increasing the resolution to 1440p, we still achieved an average frame rate of 118 fps, which is close enough to our target frame rate. The 1% minimum hasn’t dropped at all either, suggesting that occasional dips in frame rate have more to do with the CPU than a strain on your graphics card.

However, when we increased the resolution up to 4K, the game’s performance was significantly affected. It only averaged 71fps with a low of 47fps at 1%, and the game felt noticeably difficult to play because of this. This is where you may want to consider enabling DLSS scaling or frame generation. However, we recommend choosing to stick to 1440p operation instead of 4K operation with upscaling or frame generation. This is because these technologies can introduce visual quirks and slight lag into the game, which can affect your aim.

In the meantime, if you’re having trouble hitting the frame rates we’re getting, we recommend turning off most of the game’s detail settings before trying scaling or generating frames in this title.

There are a few settings we also recommend always leaving off in a competitive shooter like this, mainly motion blur and depth of field effects. These effects can look cinematic for single-player first-person shooters, but can get in the way when you’re competitive. You should also always keep V-Sync disabled to avoid stuttering, but use AMD Freesync or Nvidia G-Sync if they are available to you.

How we test Delta Force

At PCGamesN, we use dedicated gaming rigs to test the best performance and gameplay settings in the latest releases. The test bench used for Stalker 2 includes the following components: Intel Core i7 11700F, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 12 GB, 32 GB DDR4 3200 MHz RAM, MSI B560 motherboard. We are also testing under Windows 11 64-bit.

We always run our tests first at 1920×1080 to identify the best settings at the most commonly used resolution, then again at 2560×1440 and even 4K using the same configuration to assess the difference in performance . We use CapFrameX to capture frame data and compare test sessions.

How to Monitor Performance in Delta Force

If you want to keep an eye on performance in Delta Force, you can follow these instructions to find a simple method that works whether you’re using an Nvidia or AMD graphics card.

For Nvidia cards, make sure GeForce Experience or the Nvidia app is installed and in-game overlay is enabled. Then press Alt + R in-game to bring up your performance monitor. With AMD cards, you can enable performance monitoring via the Radeon overlay using the Ctrl+Shift+O shortcut.

You can also download free software like CapFrameX or Nvidia FrameView to get a cleaner, more simplified benchmarking tool that works with any graphics card.
