Concerning: “Trump will soon learn again that presidents are neither kings nor omnipotent,” by John Vile, November 25 (online) and December 1 (in print).

First of all; please don’t compare the landslides of past presidential elections to Trump’s “overwhelming” popular votes, as to FDR and others, to today’s voting numbers.

Trump was running against a politicized television press. Anyone who listened to this venom and believed it to be truth had no choice but to vote for another candidate, regardless of their qualifications. Russian collusion was a complete lie that we have heard for years, calling Hitler and his followers “trash” were just examples of senseless hatred.

Second; the very reason Trump has to “overreact,” as you call it, is because the current administration has “overreacted” by forcing this country into a desperate need to correct a host of destructive policies.

It started right from the start with the insane planning to withdraw from Afghanistan; opening the border to migrant caravans of those in need, but also to gangs and criminals (according to police reports, we now have gangs in Nashville and Murfreesboro.); this administration’s foreign policy places us face to face with the threat of nuclear war; and spending several billion dollars on “recession prevention” or “climate change,” depending on the day.

All of this spending has created the worst economy for the average worker in this country in 80 years. Yes, I remember the Great Depression.

Do you think this is reason enough to take immediate action for policy change? It really is!
