Aberdeen care home must improve despite ‘serious’ concerns

Five areas for improvement , externalwere set by the Care Inspectorate.

Ruthrieston House is to make “significant improvements” by January 20.

Necessary improvements include more effective drug auditing.

Care home staff have also been urged to ensure risks to service users are better recorded and addressed.

The Care Inspectorate said it “would not hesitate to take further action” if lasting improvements were not made.

A spokesperson added: “We understand that this is a difficult and distressing time for residents, their families and staff at the service.

“However, our first priority always remains the health and wellbeing of the residents of the service.

“We are in contact and monitoring the service to follow up on any required improvements.”
