Comelec to establish election equipment repair centers nationwide

MANILA, Philippines — For the first time, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) will establish more than a hundred repair centers across the country to streamline the electoral process.

On Wednesday, Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia said these 110 repair centers would be set up across the country.

“We did this for the first time,” Garcia said in a news conference after the Comelec’s regular en banc session, noting that in the past, the only repair centers were in the regional offices of the Comelec and at their main warehouse in Biñan, Laguna.

“If the machines and SD cards have any problems, we can now bring them in immediately,” he said.
