Karan Tacker has participated in many TV shows like Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai and Rang Badalti Odhani and others. He rose to immense fame through his performances in web series like Special Ops and Khakee: The Bihar Chapter. In a recent interview, he talked about his upcoming collaboration and even shared his thoughts on which big movie stars would take over the OTT space.

In an interview, Karan Tackerwho is filming for his upcoming web show, revealed that it was the most satisfying project of his nearly 15-year acting career. He said: “This is the happiest collaboration of my life. So far, in 15 years, if I’ve felt the most collaborative and liberated as an artist, it’s on this project. » Additionally, he was asked, with many film actors moving to web series, if this affected equality in the industry, with compromises made to accommodate big stars. To which he replied: “It’s an open platform, everyone can work here, and everyone should work here, I think it doesn’t bother me at all.”

The actor, who admits that OTT has given him and other actors like him an equalizing space, mentioned that the obsession with movie stars is completely unhealthy in the digital space. “If you have a movie actor or actress who doesn’t have a great box office track record or maybe isn’t the best artist or the best person for the job, but just the fact that the “The label of a film actor gives him this opportunity, that’s not true. This obsession needs to be toned down a little,” Karan told HT.

He went on to cite examples even from the media industry: “I don’t feel like it’s just creators or platforms, I think it even trickles down to media in general. The moment you as an industry start giving credibility to everyone, that’s the only time everyone will have an equal opportunity. » Karan even mentioned how unnecessary compromises can impact the quality of the show, adding, “The platform is like I want to pay. 1 crore actor for a project, but since this person is from cinema, I will pay him 22 crores to make a series which is not even watched by anyone and probably sanction a second season, I think it is unfair. because what what ends up breaking the backbone of the platform in general.

He explained, “No one has consummated Season 1, but you allow a Season 2, so you have to go back to the drawing board and cut back on all the other projects that you have lined up with other actors that may not be not be from films. Then you pay them less, you give less money to the producer to maybe make a more creative show. This business model is where the problem lies. As an actor, I have no problem if a film actor comes on OTT. But if they can’t make a movie, how will they put on a show here? It’s creatively unfair to the profession, and you’re stealing an opportunity from someone else. That’s what bothers me.”

Karan played the role of IPS Amit Lodha in Khakee: The Bihar Chapter and Farooq Ali in both installments of Special OPS.
