Celtic Predicted XI vs Hibernian as Brendan Rodgers faces tough competition for places

Celtic hope to extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership against Hibernian today in what could be a wet and wild afternoon at Parkhead.

Storm Darragh expected to hit parts of UK with strong winds and showers expected, but hopefully Parkhead can escape the worst extreme conditions.

Truth be told, it will take more than gloomy weather to dampen the spirits of the Bhoys support, who will be delighted to see their team take on Hibernian after Celtic edged out Aberdeen in midweek.

Hibernian came into this one after a well-deserved triumph at Motherwell last weekend and will be hoping to progress further up the table. Scottish Premiership table under David Gray.

Without further ado, 67 Hail Hail take a look at the runners and riders who will be taking to the start for the Bhoys as Brendan Rodgers draws three other important points.

Potential Celtic XI vs Hibernian

A rotation is expected today as Rodgers plans his side’s midweek clash against Dinamo Zagreb in a quick turnaround.

Make a new start between the sticks, Kasper Schmeichel will be tasked with keeping another clean sheet after another competent display in Aberdeen including safe handling and clean distribution.

Alistair Johnston is in the category of someone who might need some rest, but the Canadian full-back will start for Celtic in order to maintain some continuity within the lineup.

Cameron Carter-Vickers is rested ahead of the Bhoys’ trip to Zagreb. Liam Scales And Faithful Auston coming in at central defense, which isn’t really an unusual scenario.

Greg Taylor completes the bottom four after his second-half appearance at Pittodrie, claiming an assist for Reo Hatate’s winning goal.

Diving into Celtic’s midfield against Hibernian, you won’t be surprised to see this Callum McGregor will lead the side out. Watch out for the captain’s withdrawal at some point to save his legs for next week’s Champions League.

Reo Hatate retains his place in the engine room after a superb strike against Aberdeen. Arne Engels has taken a step forward in the last two matches, but the Belgian international is back in the race.

Wide zones can be a difficult area when it comes to determining who can or cannot make a starting appearance.

Like last weekend, James Forrest And Daizen Maeda occupy the flanks and are responsible for finding Adam Idah in attack, leaving Nicolas Kuhn and Kyogo Furuhashi to rest for Croatia.

Your predicted XI in full is: Schmeichel, Johnston, Scales, Trusty, Taylor, McGregor, Hatate, Engels, Forrest, Maeda, Idah.
