IndiGo Airlines’ woes seem endless, with several challenges cropping up in recent times. After being ranked among the “worst airlines in the world”, IndiGo has now been hit with allegations of theft and mismanagement, sparking another online debate. SheSays founder Trisha Shetty recently contacted IndiGo, claiming that a fellow passenger attempted to rob her. his mother’s carry-on baggage, further adding that the crew members failed to remedy the situation.

On Saturday, Trisha took to X and wrote, “Dear @IndiGo6E, My mother was robbed on your flight 6E 17. Flight crew kept her purse in the ceiling. When she fell asleep, a passenger took her bag. Luckily, she woke up as he was putting his bag back. Your team refused to help him file a complaint. They made excuses for the thief. » In a follow-up message, she added that her mother only collected her belongings after other passengers came to support them. “Many other passengers complained that the thief was also going through their belongings. Your crew handled the situation terribly, hoping this is resolved, being robbed in the open is deeply disturbing,” the statement said.

While Trisha’s post attracted a lot of attention, with many bashing the airlines for their inadequate services, IndiGo provided a clarification and acknowledged the complaint. Noting that the crew members quickly resolved the situation by asking Trisha’s mother to check her belongings and she confirmed that nothing was missing, he added that his mother chose not to file a formal complaint due to his connecting flight. “We assure you that our crew quickly resolved the situation by asking her to check her belongings, and she confirmed that nothing was missing,” one of the airline’s tweets read.

Strongly refuting these claims, Trisha shared in another series of tweets that it was the airline crew who convinced her mother that she would waste her entire day in police proceedings and that they had nothing made to help injured passengers on the same flight. “Your team told her she would waste her entire day on police procedures. She asked if she could stay back and follow up. They said, please leave the plane and make sure you don’t miss your connecting flight. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the Ministry of Civil Aviation,” his tweet read.

Following the exchange of communications between the airline and Trisha, most social media users sided with the latter, with many agreeing with IndiGo’s poor services and unnecessary crew members.
