Emmerdale Spoilers follow for Monday’s (December 9) episode which is now available to view on ITVX. The episode in question will be broadcast on ITV1 at 7:30 p.m.

Moira Dingle (Natalie Robb) was over the moon listening to one of her favorite tracks during the latest broadcast of the ITV soap, delighted to be back home at Butler Farm after her brain operation.

Aztec Camera’s Somewhere In My Heart played at full volume, much to the confusion of Matty Barton (Palmisciano Ash), who came home to find his mother enjoying the 80s classic.

Moira explained that the song in question is “very special” to her and her husband. Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), who had left a few hours earlier to work in Dudley.

However, on the outskirts of the village, Cain was seen listening to the same song on the radio with his head in his hand.

Fed up, he turned off the radio and texted Moira, telling her he wouldn’t be home until morning, battling the guilt of cheating on her with Ruby Fox-Miligan (Sincerely, Beth).

But just What is this the Aztec camera banger that left Cain consumed with guilt?

As Moira stated, the song has a special meaning to him and Moira, which was first discussed in 2020 during one of the ITV soap’s lockdown episodes.

At the time, Cain was going through a divorce from Moira, who had cheated on him with Nate Robinson (Jurrell Carter).

But stuck at Mill Cottage during the coronavirus pandemic, the tough man couldn’t stop thinking about his one true love, I wondered if it was possible that he could forgive her for what she did.

In order to get him to express his feelings, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) – who was living with him during the pandemic – decided to play Somewhere In My Heart on his phone, knowing it would get a strong reaction.

Cain fought back tears and ordered Aaron to delete the song, explaining that it was “one of Moira’s favorites.” Plus, it was the first song on a mixtape of classics he made for Moira when they were together.

The cassette was on the kitchen counter during lockdown and – after refusing to play it throughout his stay at Mill Cottage – Cain succumbed one night towards the end of the first lockdown, smiling inwardly while playing Somewhere In My Heart.

Cain and Moira would eventually reconcile and were arguably stronger than ever – until Cain decided to sleep with Ruby during Moira’s surgery last month.

The guilt of what he did eats away at him and it seems the classic Aztec Camera simply serves as a reminder of what he did.

The first time the song was discussed, Cain was desperately trying his best to forgive Moira. her treason. But the question is: Moira be able to forgive Cain his?
