The Best Men’s Suits for Weddings, Office, and Dates

Here are some of the best suits from Men’s Wearhouse, whether you’re shopping for a wedding, the office, or date night.

Earlier this summer, I (a relatively snobbish fashion editor) had 24 hours to find a decent costume. Back home in Los Angeles, this wouldn’t be such a big task. But I wasn’t at home: I was in the heart of a San Diego suburb, far from my favorite men’s clothing stores. So I stopped in Men’s clothing for the first time. I had only seen their TV commercials and, frankly, I didn’t expect to find anything I liked. But I ended up with a great costume – and I actually liked the way I looked. `

My successful visit to Men’s Wearhouse led me to check out their websitewhere I found even stronger adaptation options. Obviously, one of the biggest draws to Men’s Wearhouse is the price: you can find decent suits at incredibly low prices, with many jacket + pants combos well under $200. Some of these low prices are in effect clearance items or combined offers to buy a jacket and pants together.

Below, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite Men’s Wearhouse suits, whether you’re shopping for a wedding, date night, or the office. I’ve mostly stuck to classic-cut suits, because that wide silhouette is back in style. I also added some “Executive Fit” options, which are essentially a plus size fit with more room in the waist and chest.

Note: Prices shown are for a jacket + pants combo.

I’m all about the light gray suits since I reviewed Ocean 12 and see Brad Pitt’s killer outfit in there. It’s great from the Italian Men’s Wearhouse brand, Pronto Uomo. It has a slim fit and is made from a lightweight, flexible polyester and rayon blend. With the pants, it’s also only $100.

If you need a must-have navy suit, grab this one by Lauren Ralph Lauren. The suit is mainly made of wool and has a trendy, slightly looser “classic” cut.

Black suits are similar to blue ones, but they have a totally different vibe. Where blue suits are more professional, black suits are perfect for date nights, dinners, and other nighttime events outside of the office. If you don’t have a black suit, try this one from the Michael Strahan brand.

Another great navy blue suit is this one by Joseph Abboud. It features a clean cut and classic fit with a little extra room. It’s also slightly stretchy, making it a good choice to wear all day at the office.

Even though summer is over, it’s never a bad idea to get a good linen suit. This JOE Joseph Abboud linen suit is one of Men’s Wearhouse’s best-sellers, with a light, summery feel and matching beige chambray color. Wear it with a dress shirt and loafers, or a t-shirt and sneakers.

If you’re looking for a plus-size suit with a little more room in the middle, take a look at executive cut pieces from Men’s Wearhouse. One of my favorites is this one deep blue suit of Pronto Uomo. It’s made from 100% wool, giving it a premium look and feel, also ideal for the colder months.

Another great executive cut suit is this one by Kenneth Cole. It has a clean cut, especially at the shoulders, and comfortable movement thanks to a wool-elastol blend fabric.
