“I left them with their father when I came to work in Nairobi. I wanted to provide for them. The kind of work I was doing didn’t bring in enough money because it was strange. I couldn’t supervise them by going to work and I provided for their needs with the little money I had.

I was forced to leave them with their father, with whom we did not have a healthy relationship. Circumstances forced me to leave them with him,” she cried.

Millicent Adhiambo talks about relationships with children

Adhimabo said the decision affected her relationship with the children, as she had not been with them regularly for over a decade.

She said her son feared her, while her daughter became rebellious even though she made time for family time.

“I am truly sorry for them because I did what I did out of love, to ensure that they were educated, safe and protected. I could not risk ruining their lives due to my incompetence at provide for them. I want them to know that I love them and I’m their mother. I want them to come home to be with me because they’re my children and I. am their mother”, she declared with emotion.
