EU launches 3-year college business programs

University of the East (UE) offers accelerated business-focused bachelor’s degree programs that will allow students to earn a college degree in three academic years.

UE College of Business Administration’s (CBA) accelerated Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) programs, with specialization in Business Management, Financial Management, Marketing Management and Business Economics at its Manila campuses and Caloocan, can be completed in three school years comprising six semesters, or two semesters per school year, with two summers following the first and second years respectively.

“We want to enable our students to graduate earlier so that they can start their careers sooner and seize the opportunities available to them to build a better future,” said the president and academic director of the EU, Zosimo Battad.

By streamlining the pathway to higher education, the university supports the government’s aspiration to make college education more efficient and accessible, following additional time dedicated to the K-12 curriculum.

“The EU accelerated baccalaureate programs reflect our commitment to align with the government’s vision of our young people spending fewer years in higher education without compromising the quality of education,” Battad added.

The BS Management Accounting (BSMA) UE CBA Accelerated Program also allows students to complete the degree in three and a half years, a total of seven semesters with two summers following the second and third year, respectively.

The subjects offered by BSMA in the first two academic years are also aligned with the EU’s four-year Bachelor of Science in Accounting (BSA) programme, allowing qualified students to progress to the BSA program, in accordance with its policy retention.

The university’s accelerated business courses adhere to the relevant orders of the Higher Education Commission regarding required courses, subjects, number of units and other relevant policies.

UE’s long-standing business degree programs remain its flagship course offering since its inception in 1946, initially as a review center for the Certified Public Accountant licensure examinations.

The 78-year-old private university also offers a special business degree program, tailor-made for executives seeking a bachelor’s degree.

EU CBA graduates who have made their mark in the industry include Supreme Court Associate Justice Japar Dimaampao, former Vice President Manuel “Noli” de Castro, former President of the Social Security System Corazon dela Paz-Bernardo, the founding chairman of Megaworld Corporation Andrew Tan, SGV & Co. Wilson Tan, president and managing partner, Wilson Young, president of Victorias Milling Company Inc., as well as Myrna Tang-Yao, president and Managing Director of Richprime Global Inc., among others.
