NSHE approves rate adjustment to improve services and facilities

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The Nevada System of Higher Education has approved a series of tuition adjustments to improve campus services and facilities.

Adjustments will be made at all NSHE locations to address a variety of needs, including cost-of-living adjustments, enhanced student services, and infrastructure improvements.

“While no one wants to raise tuition, this is a carefully considered decision informed by feedback from student leaders and stakeholders,” said Board of Trustees President Amy J. Carvalho . “These adjustments will help us maintain the quality of education and services our students deserve.” »

The following fees have been adjusted:

  • Differential fees for specialized and high-demand programs throughout NSHE to facilitate hiring faculty, obtaining specialized equipment, and maintaining facilities.
  • General tuition to improve campus-wide needs, such as expanding mental health services, infrastructure upgrades, and student academic programs.
  • Reduced Non-Resident Fee Approved for Nevada State University RN to BSN Program
  • New fees approved at NSU to support recreational facilities, wellness initiatives and athletic programs

The amount of the fee increase was not specified.
