Amanda Holden, who hosts the Royal Variety Performance on Sunday at 8pm with Alan Carr on ITV1, told me she discussed adopting a new dog with the royal after meeting him backstage.

She said: “King Charles spoke to Alan and I for centuries,

“Camilla is a patron of Battersea Cats and Dogs Home and I am their ambassador.

“We were talking about rescues and he was saying they would definitely save another one from Battersea and losing their dog was so sad.”

About being with Charles, Amanda added: “It’s amazing that he took the time to go around this whole room because it’s a long night, it takes four hours to film.

“I said, ‘Go home, you must be broken’.”

On tomorrow night’s show, Amanda and Alan perform a number of sketches and feature artists including Marti Pellow and Sydnie. Christmas.

“My grandparents watched it religiously every year and I really thought about them during that time,” Amanda said,

“It’s terrifying. You really don’t want to mess anything up.

Kate and Wills felt personally affected by Southport, you could see the tension etched on their faces, says expert

“We did a lot of stupid things. Like you’ll see us on roller skates, you’ll see me levitating, you’ll see Alan dressed up as a bus.

“There’s so much humor injected into it.”

STRIPED capped off an incredible year by performing for King Charles – but she had to change her setlist to avoid getting a potty mouth in front of the monarch.

She looked amazing in this black dress, she was at an event for Apple at Battersea headquarters in London. Power Station, where she was presented to the king, as well as Apple CEO Tim Cook.

But while taking to the stage for a performance afterwards, she admitted to ditching the No.1 hit Escapism, in which she sings about drug use and “drunk sex”.

She told the crowd: “I was going to do Escapism but I think there are too many bad words.

“The king is nearby, my grandmother would never forgive me.”

I’m sure he was impressed, anyway.

THEIR dads put their differences aside for a mammoth tour – and an equally huge payday – now Noel and Liam Gallagher’s daughters have done the same.

Anais, who is Noel’s eldest, and Molly, who is Liam’s youngest, posed in London’s Primrose Hill for Danish shoe brand Ecco.

Alongside Instagram snaps – which I’m sure they were paid handsomely for – they wrote: “This holiday season, Ecco asked us to share what keeps us connected. Getting out and catching up is what we do best! »

Molly’s brother Gene commented: “QUEENS!!! »

If the kids can continue, there is still hope that the Oasis tour will go off without a hitch.

THE race for Christmas No1 is on and it’s an open playing field, with a host of tunes battling it out for the coveted top spot.

YouTuber Boy has bowed out for a second year, so there are no sausage roll-themed competitors, but 2023’s No. 1, Last Christmas by WHAM!, is the early favorite, according to ratings from Coral.

It’s celebrating its 40th anniversary with a new vinyl reissue, although another holiday favorite, Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You, is also celebrating its anniversary by turning 30.

What about Band Aid’s 40th anniversary version of Do They Know It’s Christmas? is also there with a cry. Sam Ryder finished at No. 2 last year with her Amazon-exclusive song You’re Christmas To Me.

And now Tom Grennan hopes to top him with his track It Can’t Be Christmas, also available on Amazon.

Another Amazon exclusive is Lauffey’s Christmas Magic, which is expected to make the Top Ten.

Other runners and riders include Stay Another Day by East 17, which is raising money for the Nordoff and Robbins charity, and Silent Night, Gentle Night by Paloma Faith, which was released for the launch of Ready Eddie Go by SkyKids! Christmas special.

All is played, as the festive battle begins.

Shawn’s messy love triangle

SHAWN MENDES admitted he made mistakes while juggling his romances with Camila Cabello and Sabrina Carpenter.

He was the subject of much of ex Sabrina’s Short N’ Sweet album this year, after he was photographed kissing his former girlfriend Camila while they were dating in the spring of last year.

He has now spoken out about the drama on John Mayer’s SiriusXM show.

He explained: “I always wonder if it’s worth talking about the details in these situations…

“So, I’m with someone.” Two days before going to hang out with my ex. . . because I have unresolved feelings.

“Maybe instead of two days, it could have been two weeks.”

This meeting inspired several of Sabrina’s hit songs, including Taste, which spent nine weeks at number one – so she had the last laugh.
