PSG scores major victory in Kylian Mbappé salary dispute

Wednesday evening, The Team reported that the Professional Football League (LFP) had rejected the attempt of Kylian Mbappé (25) to recover 55 million euros in alleged unpaid bonuses from his former club.

The French captain tried to force the club to pay him money he claimed was owed to him during his stay in the French capital.

Already in September, the LFP commission had ordered Parisians pay the Real Madrid striker the salary he had requested.

Following this decision, Mbappé’s representatives declared to Associate Pres.s that the winner of the Golden Boot of the 2022 World Cup had asked the commission to take note of the non-payment of three months’ salary plus the last third of a loyalty bonus.

PSG immediately announced that it would appeal the decision rendered in September.

On Wednesday, a club spokesperson said: “We are very happy that the disciplinary committee has decided not to sanction Paris Saint-Germain as the player had requested. By declaring its request inadmissible, the Disciplinary Commission puts an end to this long sequence.

This recent decision was done following the LFP’s summons made by the reigning Ligue 1 champions before the Paris Judicial Court.

It was made to obtain the annulment of the initial judgment by the LFP. In his final season at PSG, Mbappé became the club’s all-time top scorer, surpassing Edinson Cavani (37), en route to leading the team to a third consecutive Ligue 1 title,

During his time in Paris, Mbappé won six league titles and four Coupe de France trophies, while also helping them reach the UEFA Champions League final in 2020.

With his contract with PSG expiring this summer, Mbappé joined Real Madrid on a free transfer.
