Keshi Anderson on Birmingham’s FA Cup campaign

Keshi Anderson, Birmingham City midfielder

Birmingham City are aiming to extend their strong start to the Emirates FA Cup season this weekend.

The Blues take on Sutton United live on ITV1 and ITVX on Sunday and we caught up with attacking midfielder Keshi Anderson ahead of the game.

Here’s what he had to say in full.

Keshi and Birmingham have made a fast start in League One. Are you looking to emulate this in the FA Cup?

“Yeah, sure. It’s a massive cup competition and we want to go as far as possible.

“With the way we play week in, week out, we like to think we can go far. No matter who we play against, whether it’s a team from the lower leagues, the same league or higher leagues, we feel we can compete and win. We want to go as far as possible. »

How will the club manage entering the competition two rounds earlier than usual?

“Obviously we’ll join in November, but that means another game where we can work on what we’re good at. At the end of the day it’s a 90 minute game and hopefully we can get another win.

What do you think about playing Sutton first?

“I’ll be honest, I would have preferred a home game – but it’s just another game. We’ll take it like it’s a championship game, the next one is always the most important.

“We are going to take this very seriously.”

What would an FA Cup mean for the club?

“It would be huge. The team that we are, we want to win every game and I don’t think there’s a game that we would go into thinking we can’t. The FA Cup is a massive competition and one in which I think we have a team that can go as far as possible.
