How to get flair in Pokémon TCG Pocket

If you have a lot of duplicate cards Pokémon TCG Pocketyou can embellish your cards with flair. These cosmetic effects are completely optional and only a benefit for obtaining duplicate cards.

You may want to pick up a little talent for cards, as this will help you complete advanced missions for more Pack Hourglasses. (Although you should be able to complete all nine required missions without having to, as long as you do something else instead.)

Below we explain what flair is and how it works Pokémon TCG Pocket.

What is flair in Pokémon TCG Pocket?

Flair is a cosmetic effect You can add items to your cards once you get enough duplicates of the card. The style differs depending on the rarity of the card, as well as the theme of the card.

For example, an old two-diamond rarity Kirlia card has sparkles and stars appear as style options, but the old one-star rarity full-art Mewtwo card has options for purple shards and hexes.

There are also two types of flair, one which adds an effect on the card called “cosmetic touch” (like bright stars or glitter, as shown in the Kirlia example above) and one that shows an effect when you play the card in a battle called “fighting flair» (as shown with the Mewtwo card above).

To unlock a card’s flair, select the card on the “my cards” page and press the “get flair” button. You will receive instructions indicating that you must exchange duplicate cards And Shiny dusta currency you get by obtaining duplicate cards.

Lower diamond rarity cards must unlock the first cosmetic style option before they can unlock combat options, while higher star rarity cards only have combat style options.

Lower rarity cards require more duplicate cards and less Shinedust, while higher rarity cards, like the aforementioned ex Mewtwo, will only require a single duplicate card but a whole ton of Shinedust.

There are also some exceptions:

  • The Pikachu promotional card that you can get in the Premium Store does not require any duplicates to have flair. All you need to do is provide Shinedust.
  • 2-star trainer cards (like a fully illustrated Brock card) have no style options. As of this writing, you can only use duplicates of these cards to obtain Special Shop Tickets.

Apart from that, the flair costs are as follows. Note that you need this number of cards in addition to the number indicated by the game that you need. For example, to trade your duplicate 2-Diamond Kirlias for Style, you will need to trade two cards and have two remaining cards to keep. This means you technically need four Kirlia cards to have flair.
