Niger offers 400 hectares of land to Dangote, BUA for its industrialization — News — The Guardian Nigeria News – Nigeria and World News

The Niger State government has promised to allocate 200 hectares of land each to the Dangote and BUA groups to establish factories in the proposed free trade zone to accelerate development and provide employment opportunities to the population.

Governor Muhammad Umaru Bago made the announcement when he engaged relevant stakeholders at Tagwai Dam, Bosso State Local Council.

He explained that his government was opening up 5,000 hectares of land, stretching from Tagwai in Bosso to Shakwatu in Shiroro communal areas, for socio-economic activities.

The governor said the government intended to take advantage of the Tagwai Dam to promote massive development of Tagwai, Shakwatu and their surrounding communities.

He had hinted that the state government would construct agricultural estates and greenhouses, and establish drip irrigation system, adding that basic social amenities such as roads, schools and hospitals, among others , would also be provided to the population.

Bago stressed that communities will also benefit from the $2.5 billion investment in livestock.

He appealed to residents to support the state government, by allowing contractors to execute the projects without any hindrance.

The governor assured that compensation would be paid to deserving individuals and communities.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to the welfare of the people.

Earlier, the Emir of Minna, Alhaji Umar Faruk Bahago, commended the governor for his foresight.

He pledged the Emirate’s continued support for the programs and policies of the current administration.

The Commissioner for Agriculture, Muhammad Musa Bosso, described the governor as a good leader, saying his visit to Tagwai Dam was reassuring.
