Group arrested after stealing more than $50,000 worth of items from Victoria’s Secret in Austin, Central Texas

AUSTIN, Texas (KWTX) – A group of suspects believed to be involved in multiple thefts at Victoria’s Secret in Austin and Central Texas have been arrested.

Sofia Hernandez, 20, and Angelica Chavez, 24, are charged with multiple counts of theft. Joe Garcia, 37, is charged with multiple counts of felony theft and threatening theft and Lisa Vasquez, 30, is charged with organized retail theft.

In early September 2024, members of the Austin Police Department launched an organized crime-related theft investigation.

During the investigation, police said a Victoria’s Secret organized crime investigator identified three individuals in connection with several high-value thefts in the Austin area, as well as additional thefts in downtown Texas.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested Hernandez, Chavez, Garica and Vasquez, all of Austin, on the charges listed above.

Two search warrants were executed and police said they seized 2,000 suspected stolen items belonging to more than 40 different stores, worth $57,000, as well as a handgun.
