Conor McGregor says he ‘agreed’ to boxing exhibition against Logan Paul

Conor McGregor is preparing to return to boxing.

The outspoken Irishman and former UFC two-weight champion said Tuesday that he intends to delay his return to MMA and has agreed to face Logan Paul in an exhibition of boxing in India.

McGregor has not fought since breaking his leg in a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021. He was scheduled to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June, but withdrew due of an injured foot.

“The rumors of a fight with (Ilia) Topurio are false”, McGregor said in a post on Tuesday.

“I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. I accepted. I will then look to return to the Octagon.

Paul, like his brother Jake, is also a YouTuber turned professional fighter. Jacques defeated boxing legend Mike Tyson last month.

He appeared in four exhibition boxing bouts, including a draw and loss to KSI, a draw with Floyd Mayweather, and a victory against MMA fighter Dillon Danis.

McGregor has only appeared in a professional boxing bout once – a high-profile 2017 fight against Mayweather. which ended in a 10th round TKO defeat.

McGregor’s announcement comes less than a month after a civil court jury In Ireland, he must pay nearly 250,000 euros to a woman who said he “brutally raped and beat” her in a Dublin hotel penthouse in December 2018.

McGregor said she fabricated the allegations after the two men had consensual sex.
