Event and sports venue proud to develop in Pampa

PAMPA, Texas (KFDA) – Ruben travels to Pampa, visits a local event and sporting venue and learns what it means to them to be part of the community.

“I came up with the idea after I bought the property and I had all this space. I knew I wanted to build a store first and put a lot of my stuff there,” said Gary Free, owner of Harvester Connection.

After building the store, Free immediately decided to go ahead and build an outdoor kitchen in the back, use all of its utilities, and add a fire pit to enjoy the outdoors.

“And then, I’ve always been a golfer and of course I have plenty of space for a putting green,” Free said.

Free says it was a no-brainer for him. Everything just evolved and became what it is today.

He said he played basketball in high school and knew he wanted to include a basketball court.

“I was really starting to think about what I could do with it and how I could give back to Pampa, having been raised here and kind of give back to Pampa, a place where kids can go and enjoy, you know, what I like. do growing up,” Free said.

Free says it’s so rewarding. At first, Free didn’t really like the idea of entertaining and having people on his property. His children also mentioned that he didn’t like people touching his things.

“But once I started, once I got involved, you know, it’s really rewarding to see the kind of fun and the lack of stress and the parents getting involved with their kids, their grown-ups “Parents get involved with their children, the unity that they build, the memories that they build. It’s really rewarding. I really enjoy it,” Free said.
