Megan’s Top 10 Events: Happy Halloween, Maui News readers! | News, Sports, Jobs

We hope you’ve enjoyed our weekly events which feature everything from spooky treats to costume contests and more all across the island.

For this week’s Top Events section, you can expect Halloween-themed highlights and more! Don’t forget to check out the Maui County Festival and Wailuku First Friday this week.

1. Halloween Pet Parade in the Keiki Gardens and Costume Contest (Thursday, October 31, 6-8 p.m., Kihei): Come to South Maui Gardens in Kihei for the free annual Halloween in the Gardens community event for families, friends and pets. Located at 35 Ahuna Road in Kihei, the Maui Humane Society and Kihei Food Oasis are partnering to support this event with a live DJ, keiki costume contest, yard games, pet parade and much more . 2. Kā’anapali Family Halloween Party (Thursday, October 31; 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Whalers Village): Enjoy a live DJ, entertainment, games, face painting, a music station candy or treats, a photo booth and much more during this party. celebration on the west side. 3. Holoholo Halloween at Queen Kaʻahumanu Center (Thursday, October 31; 5-7 p.m., Kahului): The Queen Kaʻahumanu Center is hosting a Holo Holo Halloween on center court. Expect a keiki costume contest, treats and exciting activities for all ages. Participating keiki will be separated by age groups (ages 1-4; 5-9 and 10-13). Visit 275 W. 4. Haunted Circus Fundraiser, CarnEVIL of Horrors! (Thursday, October 31; 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., Wailuku): Head to the historic Iao Theater for the Haunted Circus Fundraiser, which features a kid-friendly haunted house where little ones can enjoy spooky thrills without chills. Adults invited from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets available at the door. The event is presented by Maui Onstage, in partnership with Fuzz Box Productions, Waikapu Danceworks, the Parlay, Esters Fair Prospect & Wave of Harmony. Located at 68 N. Market St. in Wailuku.

5. First Friday in Wailuku (Friday, November 1; times vary, Wailuku): It’s time for the monthly First Friday in Wailuku. This First Friday you can enjoy live music, presentations, local vendors and much more. Learn more at www.wailukufirstfriday.com.

6. 11th Annual Hawaiian Airlines Made in Maui County Festival (Friday and Saturday, November 1-2; times vary, Kahului): The Hawaiian Airlines Made in Maui County Festival returns for its 11th year Friday and Saturday at the renowned Maui Arts & Cultural Center. This year’s event will feature a selection of the best produce from Maui, Molokai and Lanai. The festivities begin Friday with the buyer preview and exclusive shopping day from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Attendees can enjoy a relaxed shopping experience that will culminate in an opening ceremony at 5:00 p.m. with free pupus that will set the tone for the weekend. . Saturday is the big day of the festival, hosted by beloved local Maui celebrity Kathy Collins. Parking is free on Saturdays, with free and convenient shuttle services to/from the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center. Other parking locations will be announced. 7. Dia de los Muertos (Saturday, November 2; 4 p.m.-9 p.m., Wailuku): Dia de los Muertos is a precolonial celebration practiced throughout Latin America that celebrates the departed. This year’s event features an evening filled with vibrant performances from Mariachi Espectacular and Cindy Shea’s Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Divas. This is happening at the J. Walter Cameron Center at 95 Mahalani St, Wailuku, HI 96793.

8. Maui Senior Fair (Saturday, November 2; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Kahului): Seniors and their families are invited to attend the 51st Annual Maui County Senior Fair on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Maui Mall Village in Kahului. This year’s theme, “The power of connection” highlights the profound impact that meaningful relationships and social interactions have on our health and well-being. Located at 70 E Kaahumanu Ave. in Kahului.

9. 21st Annual Arbor Day Garden Show and Tree Giveaway (Saturday, November 2, 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Kahului): This is a free community event with free parking across the street at War Memorial Stadium. This year’s event, in partnership with the Maui Association of Landscape Professionals, includes tree and plant care demonstrations, free hands-on Hawaiian cultural activities, keiki activities, conservation organizations, plants for sale and the giveaway of native Hawaiian trees on a first-come, first basis. served, one per person, all ages. 10. Lahaina Housing and Resource Fair (Saturday, November 2; 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Lahaina): Do you need help rebuilding your house? Find a lender? Understanding insurance? Submit permits? Save the date for a resource fair with local businesses and nonprofits who want to support you. There will be food, door prizes, a Keiki zone and more. The event will be held at Lahaina Middle School.
