First alert morning, fog, light showers with colder temperatures to follow

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) – First alert in place Wednesday morning due to dense and scattered fog. The warmer weather continues on Wednesday, then the big return to calm arrives!

A first alert to start on Wednesday, with waking up to dense and scattered fog for the morning commute. Another morning where drivers will want to leave early and use low beam lights. A dense fog advisory is in effect until 10:00 a.m.

Wednesday looks to be warm again in the 60s!

A cold front moves into the area Wednesday evening, bringing showers back to the forecast after 4 p.m. and lingering until around 11 p.m. Once again, the majority of showers are concentrated in the mountains with just a small chance of isolated showers in the northern part of the state.

The totals seem to add up to about a few tenths of an inch, if anything. Very light rain is expected overall. As temperatures dry out toward the end of the week, cooler air returns. High temperatures will be in the 50s Thursday and Friday.

Temperatures then drop into the 30s and 40s for the weekend.

And we are looking forward to Christmas Eve! Lots of traveling and of course time with family. The weather appears relatively calm locally, with no rain or snow, with highs in the 40s.

Christmas Day is expected to be generally dry, but some rain is expected in the west. Snow chances are very low, but we could see some light rain between now and the end of Christmas Day through December 26th.
