Yogi Govt to create 300-bed luxury dormitory for pilgrims, tourists

Mahakumbh Nagar, December 18: With just a few weeks left for the grand Mahakumbh 2025 festival in Prayagraj, the Yogi government is speeding up preparations to ensure smooth arrangements.

The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation Limited (UPSTDC), is actively setting up tent cities at various places in the Mela region to accommodate pilgrims and tourists.

As part of this initiative, UPSTDC is set to enhance its luxury tent accommodation facilities by establishing a 300-bed luxury dormitory in the Mahakumbh Mela area. This large-scale project will soon gain momentum and aims to provide premium accommodation options to visitors.

The 300-bed luxury dormitory will feature a total of 50 tents, categorized as follows: 20 tents with 4 beds each, 10 tents with 6 beds each and 20 tents with 8 beds each.

In line with the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the tent cities built and operated in the Mahakumbh Mela area are designed to cater to the needs of international tourists, VIPs and general pilgrims.

Each tent in this luxury dorm will be between 250 and 400 square feet. These tents will be developed and operated to the same high standards as the super luxury villas and tents already established by UPSTDC in Arail. with the same standards as the super luxury villas and tents already installed by UPSTDC in Arail.

This ensures that groups of tourists and pilgrims staying in these tents can benefit from world-class facilities while enjoying a comfortable stay together in the Mahakumbh region.

The luxury tents at Mahakumbh Mela area will offer a host of premium amenities including air conditioning, double beds with mattresses, sofa sets, custom interiors, desks, geysers, fire extinguishers, duvets and blankets, mosquito nets, Wi-Fi, a dining area, shared lounge areas, a waiting lounge and a meeting lounge. Guests will also enjoy serene river views, creating a delightful and immersive experience.

In addition to lodging, UPSTDC will offer a variety of activity packages. These include Sangam boat rides, sofa boat rides, banana boat rides, cruises and organizing religious rituals at the Prayagraj Sangam. Visitors can also explore the rich religious and mythological heritage of Prayagraj through organized tours.

The culinary offering will include a varied menu, including toast, milk with cornflakes, sweet curd, sprouts, fresh cut fruits, hot chocolate shakes, puri-sabzi, southern cuisine India, a range of parathas, vegetable thalis and drinks like green tea, masala chai, regular tea and coffee.

Guests will also have access to yoga sessions and information on cultural events as part of the packages. The luxury tents will mainly operate between January 13 and February 26.
