Nabi to extend contract of favorite Kaizer Chiefs star

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly tabled a bumper new three-year contract offer for one of their prized strikers.

Mduduzi Shabalala has made 11 starts for the Glamor Boys this season under Nasreddine Nabi.

Shabalala has scored three goals while assisting two others and now, according to the latest reports, a contract extension is looming for the 20-year-old.

Will Shabalala stay at Kaizer Chiefs until at least 2028?

“The club is making sure to keep almost all its valuable youngsters because in the past, Kaizer Chiefs have lost some to rivals and that is why they have offered Mdu (Shabalala) another three-year contract,” said a close source. Soccer Laduma.

“Remember he signed a three-year contract in June 2022 until June 2025? And the one that the club has proposed now will stay in Naturena at least until June 2028. This is what the club is considering.

In other related news, a Kaizer Chiefs first-team player’s future hangs in the balance.

The Glamor Boys are once again falling well short of rivals Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates this season.

And a player who, according to coach Nasreddine Nabi, is not up to the task at Naturena is Zitha Kwinika!

The utility defender joined Kaizer Chiefs in 2022 from Stellenbosch, but he has struggled to impress the club.

Kwinika linked with Kaizer Chiefs exit

Kwinika is yet to play for the club this season and new reports suggest he will be stood down in January!

Zitha is a good professional but this season it hasn’t worked out for him. He performed well in the last two seasons with Kaizer Chiefs and was an important member of the team, but coach Nabi did not use him,” said an official. Citizen report read.

“It is clear that he is not part of the coach’s plans and that he could be relieved of his duties as early as January because he will not play. So far, I don’t know if there have been offers from him to other PSL clubs, but what is clear is that coach Nabi prefers other players to him.
