Everton news: BBC reaction to Friedkin group takeover

We know the Farhad Moshiri era, it was eight managers, it was this revolving door, there were financial violations, points deductions, protests against the running of the club and an interim board in place since 18 months also. It was difficult.

However, as of this morning there are new owners, owning 99.5% of the club. The Friedkin Group.

They are on the ground, not just today.

There will be representatives at the Chelsea game on Sunday, so there will be some of the Freidkin group at Goodison, and I think they’ll love it because I think it’ll boost the atmosphere anyway.

So the transfer window reopens on January 1st, I wouldn’t expect massive business volumes because of the PSR (profit and sustainability rules) and those are the Premier League rules, so you have to stay within your threshold .

However, the Freidkin Group’s vision for Everton reads: “Strengthening the men’s first team through thoughtful and strategic investment.”

They will now have meetings with Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell, who is the director of football, and they will work very closely with them so I wouldn’t expect too many changes at Everton.
