“I’m just glad to be done with it. Just glad to be done with it,” said Robert Langhoff, a Thiensville voter. “This election has been a bit of a struggle. The big issues that most Americans are focused on are the economy, immigration and abortion. And all three weighed heavily on my decision today.”

You might feel this pressure if you lived in a divided village, in a divided state, in a divided nation.

“I felt a little undecided, like I was leaning in one direction all the time and then there was either the angel or the devil on my shoulder saying: have you thought about this direction? I knew that I had to make a decision,” Langhoff said. “What were the most urgent things that would have the most immediate impact on my life?”

In Thiensville in 2020, former President Donald Trump defeated President Joe Biden by just 45 votes. Two of those Biden votes were James and Anna Hahn.

“I like to go with the winners, right,” James Hahn said. “And I like to start from what I feel: who has the best attitude and who is going to help me the best? Now, do I regret voting for Biden? Yes, I do.”

“I kind of vote for whoever I think best fits what I want,” Anna Hahn said. “It’s not just one party.”

This year? They come back.

“The Trumpsters have really shown a turnaround, in my opinion, especially when it comes to assassination attempts,” James Hahn said. “This guy’s character shines through. I’m proud of him.”

GOP support has plummeted in Ozaukee County. He voted 64% for Republican Mitt Romney, but about 55% for Trump in 2020 and 2016.

“The color is getting a little more purple in the region, which is really great, because I know we’ve been pretty red in the past,” said Molly Villa, who is voting for Vice President Kamala Harris. “It’s nice to see the change.”

As the latest Marquette Law School poll found, 52% of those who voted early, in person, favored Trump, 56% of those who voted on Election Day favored him, and 70% favored Trump. of those who vote by mail are in favor of Harris.

“I think it’s exciting because for a long time, women didn’t have rights in a lot of things. We fought really hard to get those rights and keep them,” Villa said. “So I think by putting a woman in office, it would be amazing to see that, because it shows how far we’ve come and that we can go even further.”

Early voting ends this weekend. Many locations will stop by on Friday, November 1st. However, some places like Milwaukee will continue through Sunday, so it’s best to check with your local clerk.
