Illness plunged the event into chaos

Tyson Fury’s rematch against Oleksandr Usyk is in jeopardy after one of the boxing judges assigned to score the fight fell ill.

Fury and Usyk are expected to re-enter the ring in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday evening (December 21), with a ring walk scheduled for around 10:55 p.m. GMT.

But discussions over a replacement judge have left the two camps at odds, with neither agreeing on who should fill the vacancy.

Fernando Barbosa was one of three judges assigned to score the fight, but he did not travel to Saudi Arabia due to illness.

To resolve the issue, two officials named Steve Weisfeld and Ignacio Robles were hovered over.

But right now, Team Fury and Team Usyk can’t agree on which judge should take the spot.

It has been reported that promoter Frank Warren has suggested that a coin toss should decide who will fill the seat.

They’ll have to come to an agreement somehow or the fight may not happen at all.
