Jim Cramer says: “I think everyone will remember Meta Platforms, Inc (META), which has just been upgraded, upgraded, upgraded again”

We recently compiled a list of Jim Cramer Latest Stocks: 23 Stocks He Just Talked About. In this article, we’ll take a look at where Meta Platforms, Inc (NASDAQ: META) stacks up to other stocks that Jim Cramer has recently written about.

With the Federal Reserve’s December meeting over, Wall Street has now moved to a new paradigm. Even though the central bank cut interest rates by 25 basis points, a widely expected move, the bank also signaled that 2025 could bring fewer interest rate cuts than many might have expected . In fact, not only are markets convinced that the Fed will reduce its cuts less in 2025, but some even believe that interest rates could be raised, especially given the central bank’s median inflation forecast for 2025 is 2.5%, which is higher than the previous 2.1%.

While the Fed’s announcements and press conference sent the flagship S&P index up 3.2%, Jim Cramer explained that the stock market as a whole is not doing very well. On the episode of Squawk On The Street on the day of the interest rate cut, he said: “Look at materials stocks, look at anything related to industrial exports. Look at housing stocks. David, there are cohorts that are indeed in the process of overturning. it’s not like everything is super powerful and it’s all quantum computing and Rocket Lab!”

Cramer added that while some believe parts of the economy such as retail are strong, a deeper look might be needed. “Look, there’s this growing consensus that’s not necessarily represented in these Fed funds futures, but just saying why are they doing this? And I come back and say why are they doing this,” Cramer said, adding “So I think the talking heads, and boy, there’s always a lot of talking heads, we decided that if you look at what we’re seeing at some retailers, things are strong, by the way , in retail, this is not strong either if you count colds.

Going against the grain, he stressed the need to look at data to find the right headlines. According to him, “I don’t know where these people come from who say things are strong, they look at the overall numbers, I look at individual companies, I try to find companies that are strong.” Cramer was also perplexed by the Atlanta Fed’s fourth-quarter GDP growth estimate of 3.2%. He shared that he was “trying to find why. I’m trying to find where it is. You know David, travel is very strong, yes. Leisure is very strong. Dining out is very strong. Those- These are strong and, by the way, they are very obvious, they seem obvious to the Atlanta Fed, I don’t know what kind of weighting they have, but wow.
